According to Northwest it is 3 hour and 9 minutes from DTW to DEN

It all depends on the jet stream and how strong it is!!! I flew once form North Carolina to Tempe Arizona and it took like 1 and a half to 2 hours, or maybe even 3, it has been a few years!! So, till you fly you can just guess on the time it will take!!! The pilot caculates all that when he gets in the cocpit of the plane and tells you over the loud speaker!!!

It takes about 3 hours, give or take a little. The reverse direction
(Denver to Detroit) will be shorter due to the jetstream winds.
