They need to take a bat to the knees of Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, and Dirk Nowitzki, then they might have a chance.

They have to learn how to use the Anthony-Iverson tag team to the fullest and get a complete center that will help them out. They also have to realize that they have other weapons on their team like Marcus Camby….

The gotta beef up in the paint, get some veteran big men to help rebound, block shots, and play defense.

Pretty simple. Gain chemistry. They obviously have some of the best talent in the L. They just need to play more consistent and play together. No one truly knows how good Denver will be. I’m curious to see how Iverson is going to work in that offense having a full off-season to bond with the coaches and players.

What does any team with an abundance of offense needs in order to be a championship level team. DEFENSE! If Nene could show up every night and play like he is capable, that would make a world of a difference. One game he will give Duncan all he can handle and then the next game poof, he is a no show. I would like to also see a more mature Carmelo, his shot selection is a bit questionable at times, especially for a guy who takes as many shots as Kobe. A bit more team chemistry would definitely help, they could use a true point guard also.

They need more then just Carmello Anthony. They need a supporting cast. No offense to Nene`, Marcus Camby or Kenyon Martin, but another guy to take the scoring responsibilities, and a good point guard to get it to them. That seems to be this team’s one true weakness, a good enough point guard to lead them into battle.
A guy like Delonte West would have fit, Marcus Banks, try trading for a young guy and breed him into that role.

they need a better inside presence

Improve chemistry, a little better than I expected but Iverson still tried to go it alone when they went flat in the playoffs. Natural maturation of Carmelo will help, they will have to toughen up inside a little (they have some tough guys if they could stay healthy), Carmelo hitting the offensive boards hard when he ends up weak side when Iverson drives might be enough, he will also have to post up more. If Iverson could become the kind of (a true point guard) guard who could average 8apg the rest would take care of it self (if Iverson would settle in at the point C, Atkins would be an excellent back up, adding depth, and then J.R Smith can get lots of minutes at OG). Not saying they would win the championship but they could compete. They will still lack depth so they must stay healthy, If they do they have some nice rotations at PF and C.

1. Stay healthy
2. Ego’s must co-exist
3. Must not get into brawls in New York
Other than that, no moves need to be made.

1. needs a good point guard if ever they start Iverson at 2. That point guard should be a pass-first kind of guard like their starter last season, Blake.
2. needs a healthy frontline. Camby, Nene, Martin should be injury-less the whole season in order for them to got a higher seed in the tough west. They got one of the best frontline in the NBA but they doesn’t play in full force because one time or another, someone is injured.
3. needs a reliable sub at 2-spot so that Iverson can slide to 1 if they are against team with big backcourt such as Lakers or Houston (if T-Mac played at 2)
4. needs a better focus during playoff. it’s terible to be sweep by Spurs after winning game 1 on the road.

The Nugs need to get rid of Kenyon Martin, he is worthless… he and his “posse” are a plague in Lodo. That punk needs to realize that he is supposed to be a role model and act like it, not some ghetto fool. I’ve met him, not impressed.
That will also free up $10 mil under the salary cap. Thereby allowing for one big blockbuster signing. With the scoring combo of Iverson and Melo, the Nugs would need a quality point guard… Unfortunately, they just lost the one they had… If Camby can stay healthy and Nene steps up to the plate, JR Smith can be a valuable asset at 6th man, the Nugs just need to fill that one spot. As funny as it sounds, Kobe would fit in here… But, after that whole buttsex fiasco, I don’t see it happening…

Trade their entire roster for the Spurs, Suns or Mavs roster.
