Gigglesalot asked:

I have tried to search for it online, but have come up empty handed. My husband and I used to go to Disneyland alot and have their corn dogs. They were massive. Now I am curious to see if I can find something similar in Denver, Colorado. Its my husbands birthday in a month and I wanted to suprise him.Serious answers only please! Any help is greatly apperciated! If there are no places in Denver any ideas of what I can do?

    Griff’s Burger Bar

An old-fashioned hamburger stand selling old-fashioned hamburgers; that’s the gimmick at Griff’s Burger Bar, a time-tested location for junk food out West. The menu sticks to the basics — hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, corn dogs, egg sandwiches and BLTs. Try the “Giant” double cheeseburger value meal with a chocolate milkshake for an experience as delicious as it is fattening. Granted, mastery of the burger takes no culinary genius, but Griff’s take on the sandwich — a flattened patty on a buttery bun — has a loyal Denver fan base.

In the mid-20th century, Griff’s was a major national burger chain; over the decades, its numbers dwindled to a handful scattered through the West (including an Arvada location). In October 2003, the Broadway Griff’s caught fire and shut down. It reopened in 2004 with the same generic design as before — fast food dining minus the corporate sheen (but nobody eats at Mickey D’s for the atmosphere, either). At Griff’s, it’s all about the burgers. — Konstantine Simakis (Photo: Konstantine Simakis)

Sonic drive-ins have corn dogs. They are .99 at some, $1.09 at others. Not the greatest, by far, but they ARE corn dogs…
