Where in the denver or surrounding area should I live?

If I should live in Denver, what part of the city is good but yet affordable?
I am moving sight unseen to CO at the end of August and it doesn’t matter where I go. Any suggestions? TIA!

I’ve lived in Colorado for 23 years. Denver is a BIG, dirty city. Colorado Springs, which is about 1-1 1/2 south is cleaner, you get more of the changing seasons and has the “big city” to socialize in. If you move a little farther west you are closer to Breckenridge (we are about 1 hour away) and you REALLY get the changing seasons as the altitude is about 9,000ft. Those towns, Woodland Park, Divide, are beautiful but not for singles as they are rural. Good luck and Welcome to Colorado in August!

Vail has plenty of coffee shops etc, I went there in the Summer some years ago and really enjoyed it.

Wheat Ridge or Mountain View, just to the mountains side of Denver very nice area I have friends who live in Wheat Ridge.
